AGKK Martial Arts
What is Goju Ryu Karate?
AGKK Karate is an authentic Japanese martial art renowned for very effective Self Defence.
Karate is not just an excellent Self Defence but it is based on traditional values and a positive way of life. We are directly linked to Japan with our training and authentic techniques.
Becoming a Black Belt for adults, kids, and families
We enhance adults’ and children’s lives empowering adults and children to have confidence, courage, focus, and determination to reach their goals at home, work, school, and Martial Arts.
We operate all year round with no separate Karate sign-on days.
The easiest way to get started is to speak to your local instructor and let them know of your interest in starting Goju Ryu Karate. When you come along to your first free class, wear comfortable clothes that you can move around freely and are appropriate for doing sport. Your first Martial Arts lesson is free and you are under no obligation to join.
When you decide that our AGKK Karate family is right for you or your family, our experienced desk secretary will provide you all the information.

Kids and Children’s Karate classes
Enjoyable and fun classes incorporating life skill activities for improving confidence, mindfulness, focus, improving participation, fitness, social interaction and improving their concentration and progress at school. Kids achieve and set goals in a safe and secure environment and build essential foundation life skills in the Martial Arts classes.
Our Martial Arts classes increase children’s awareness of danger in society and methods of dealing with conflict in their social environments. Children will learn realistic Karate skills to avoid conflict at school, Self Defence skills to protect themselves from peers, and Self Defence strategies to deter and protect themselves from strangers.
Gradings
Gradings are held four times per year. Students who are dedicated and attend two Karate classes a week and doing their own practice may be invited to the gradings thereby move forward through their belts. Students attending one class a week usually do not pick up the essential skills and do not progress as quickly as a student who trains twice per week.
Training twice per week will see positive advanced improvement in all areas.
