Traditional Japanese Karate is an ideal form of mental and physical exercise, self-defence training, and a fun social outlet for Men, Women, and children of all ages.

At Australian Goju Kai Karate, we believe that developing and maintaining a healthy body and mind is paramount to getting as much enjoyment out of life as you possibly can.

Developing good health and fitness level is very important for the quality of your life. At AGKK, we also nurture positive mindset as well as physical health. Constructive health allows us to get through our busy day with control and sufficient energy reserves, as well as staying calm, focused, and positive.

Besides improving physical and spiritual well being, AGKK Instructors monitor progress of their students during the training session. This helps the student to understand and practice the correct breathing and body techniques in the Dojo, and also allows the student the flexibility to practice correctly at home when it suits. A grading program is also available for students and provides a further incentive for the student to set personal challenges and achieve realistic short term goals.

Regular training allows the student to develop in a number of ways. One of the most important aspects is the development of the student's inner 'sense' or instinct, as well as mental alertness and preparedness. In this way, the student develops the ability to read or anticipate potential dangerous situations and avoid them. The student also develops the ability to understand his/her body and maximize their potential by using correct breathing techniques.

By participating in this traditional martial art and improving your fitness, your ability to cope with the stresses of life will be enhanced and your body will better able to fend off illness. Fitness allows your body to sleep better, to wake feeling rested, and to explore new life activities Fitness doubly improves overall body tone and appearance. By training regularly and with commitment, a sense of self-discipline, courtesy and respect for others is also developed. This is an important aspect of the Goju Kai philosophy and is rewarded with encouragement, loyalty and mutual respect.

Training in Karate is an excellent form of healthy routine exercise, and may cultivate overall physical beauty. Karate training reinforces the principles in eating a balanced, healthy diet, including all major food groups. Karate combines meditation therapy, strength building and cardiovascular exercises that tone, shape and strengthen your body.

Participating in Karate is a great way to relieve your stress and free your mind from the pace of living in today's evermore-rapid society. We introduce you to philosophies and routines that help you get your whole body and mental system in balance and in tune.

Lastly and best of all, training in Karate is lots of fun, providing the opportunity to meet new friends.

Programs are available for you to help achieve your goals in view of your time, profession, motivation, and access to facilities. AGKK can help develop a personalized program for yourself, your family and/or friends, and monitor your progress with regular training and/or private lessons.
