Constructive health allows us to get through our busy day with control and sufficient energy reserves, as well as staying calm, focused, and positive.
Besides improving physical and spiritual well being, AGKK Instructors monitor progress of their students during the training session. This helps the student to understand and practice the correct breathing and body techniques in the Dojo, and also allows the student the flexibility to practice correctly at home when it suits. A grading program is also available for students and provides a further incentive for the student to set personal challenges and achieve realistic short term goals.
Regular training allows the student to develop in a number of ways. One of the most important aspects is the development of the student's inner 'sense' or instinct, as well as mental alertness and preparedness. In this way, the student develops the ability to read or anticipate potential dangerous situations and avoid them. The student also develops the ability to understand his/her body and maximize their potential by using correct breathing techniques.
By participating in this traditional martial art and improving your fitness, your ability to cope with the stresses of life will be enhanced and your body will better able to fend off illness. Fitness allows your body to sleep better, to wake feeling rested, and to explore new life activities Fitness doubly improves overall body tone and appearance. This is an important aspect of the Goju Kai philosophy and is rewarded with encouragement, loyalty and mutual respect.
